Titans giving to the community.
The Temiscaming Titans junior hockey organisation is preparing for the upcoming 2013/14 season. The team’s primary mission is to train, motivate and build strong young athletes, socially, and professionally. Our organization is also determined and focused on building a strong team, to the benefit of the players, the fans, and the team. With this being said, the Titans have placed an emphasis on community involvement by the whole organisation from the owners on down to the coaches and players. Whether it’s volunteer work around town or making appearances at as many special events and schools as possible, the Titans not only give of their time but also donate to worthy causes in Temiscaming.
In the past two years the Titans organisation have donated or helped raise over $35,000.00. The major fundraiser is the annual Titans community challenge cup where almost $16,000.00 has been raised over the last 2 years. Monies raised from this activity is divided amongst several non-profit organisations in the town.
Organisations such as the Youth Centre, the Temiscaming & Kipawa handicapped association, Novice AAA hockey team, Find Luke Joly fund, Secondary V students, Temiscaming Figure Skating Club and also the families affected by a large fire on Ste-Theresa street have benefitted from the Titans generosity and help.
